What are volumisers?

Cosmetic Aesthetics

Volumisers are made from Hyaluronic Acid (HA), a naturally occurring sugary substance already in our bodies which acts as a sponge and attracts water.

A common sign of aging is loss of volume in the face, particularly the cheeks, mid-face and lips. Over time our body produces less HA resulting in the skin becoming dehydrated.  Volumisers can provide immediate results with little to no downtime restoring youthfulness whilst enhancing your natural beauty.

Volumisers are injected just below the skin surface to plump, lift folds and wrinkles and rejuvenate the overall appearance of the face resulting in a natural, more youthful appearance.

Most frequent questions and answers

LuxLab only uses volumisers that are proven and tested and can be reversed if needed.

Volumisers cannot be used:

  • During pregnancy
  • While breastfeeding
  • Certain Medical Conditions or taking specific medications

Minor side effects such as redness, bruising and swelling can occur as product is being injected into below the skin.  If this occurs generally it disappears within a couple of days although occasionally severe bruising can last up to 10-14 days.  Most clients resume their daily routine immediately after treatment.  Some very rare severe side effects such as infection and necrosis of the skin can occur.

Post treatment care after volumising?

At LuxLab we provide our clients with aftercare instructions to take home and follow to ensure the best outcome post medical procedure including:

  • First 4 hours
    • No application of make-up or touching the treated area
  • First 24 hours
    • No rubbing the treated area
    • No strenuous exercise or saunas
  • First 2 weeks
    • No facials, peels or massages to the treated area
    • No other treatment to the area

After these times you can resume normal activities however its important to follow this advice to ensure product is not moved and to decrease the severity of possible bruising or infection and to achieve the best outcome.

Can you have volumising treatment and softening treatment at the same time?

Yes absolutely!  While softening treatment  and volumising treatments work differently, they can be administered in the one sitting.  It is important to allow approximately 90 mins for both treatments including a full facial consult.
